La Chiesa del sacro Cuore, situate nel cuore di Betlemme, domina dall’alto l’ampia valle del Giordano, con il suo peculiare appeal artistico e paesaggistico. Essa fu costruita nel 1902 dai Salesiani e in seguito dedicata al sacro Cuore di Gesù, essendo la spiritualità salesiana fondata sull’umiltà e la bontà dello spirito di Gesù e rispondente al suo appello “Venite, voi affaticati ed oppressi, e io vi darò il riposo” (Mt 11: 28). La Chiesa fu costruita in stile gotico, con una struttura semplice e regolare, creando un eco gioioso di musica e voci.The ‘Sacred Heart Church’ situated at Bethlehem, looms over the Jordan valley, with its peculiar artistic appeal. The church was built in 1902 by the Salesians and later dedicated it to the Sacred heart of Jesus, as the Salesian spirituality looks at the heart of Jesus with meekness and humility and attends to the call of Jesus, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11: 28). The church is built in gothic style, and the structure is simple. The acoustics is really a treat to the ears as the music and voice, re-echoes.
