Salesian Bethlehem| Community

The Salesian Community wishes each student a golden life ahead after the golden jubilee graduation ceremony. Congratulations! Go forth and shine.

The Salesian community at Bethlehem has 7 Salesians from 5 nationalities: Egypt, India, Italy, Lebanon and Vietnam. The rector, Fr. Daniel Bassali Boules (from Egypt) who took charge of the community last year (2015), is also the principal of the Salesian Technical School; Fr. Vincent Raj, hails from India, Chennai, is the vice rector and the director of the Youth Centre; Fr. Dany El Hayek, from Lebanon, is the bursar of the community; Fr. Joseph Thi Nguyen, from Vietnam, is a student learning Arabic Language; Fr. Jacques Amateis, from Italy, works at the Apostolic Nunciature at Jerusalem. We have two elderly Salesians who are beyond their 80s; Frs. Pietro Sartori and Mario Provera.

The community actively involves itself in both spiritual and manual works. Starting with the chaplaincies, prayers and meditations in the morning, the community is present in the School and then in the Oratory at the late afternoon. The spectrum of works which involve Bakery, Artistic Centre, International Nativity Museum, Public Church, Oratory which involves scout, Technical School, Spiritual Direction etc., keep the community members always active

Beyond the fatigue that results from the work, the community dedicates its time enriching its spiritual dynamics through regular acts of piety, prayer and meditation. The community has once a month a recollection in the evening and dedicates a complete day in prayer once every three months. In her spiritual activity, the community never fails to remember her benefactors and all those who render her mission possible at Bethlehem. Various times the community offers masses for those who make a specific request for prayers. We as the Salesian Community assure you of our prayers and urge you keep us in your prayers.
